What is love? It is when we cease from selfishness to wanting the best for others. Love is to put yourself in the place of another. To feel their pain, bear their burdens, share their joys, to cry with them and celebrate with them. The bible tells us that God is love – 1 John 4 v 8, so if God is love then we should expect that He would be the epitomy of love, the greatest manifestation of what love is all about, the ultimate love.
What must love do? Love must put itself in the place of another. And what would be the greatest manifestation of love? Self-sacrificial love. Where one puts oneself in the place of another to suffer for the failings or sins of others. Love would walk in our shoes, cry our tears, feel our pain, carry our burdens and be judged for our sins. Self-sacrificial love means He would give up His life so that we could be spared the just punishment for our sins which is death, while that judgment of death falls on Him. If God is love, that’s what He would do.
Therefore the greatest manifestation of love has already manifested on planet earth. God has put Himself in your and my place. Whether you feel it or you don’t, it doesn’t change anything. No amount of good work can increase His love for us and certainly no amount of sin can diminish it. Nothing any human being or Priest or any demon or devil can do can alter that love. We cannot change it – we can only receive it and be changed by it. Brother and sister, this day choose to receive the unconditional love of God. Be encouraged by this message that the greatest love of all has already happened. That God became a human being, He became poor so that you and I might become rich in every realm of life imaginable. Activate the power of His love in your life by receiving it and your life will never be same again.
